Indeed. I genuinely never thought I'd be blogging about Pixie Lott but this story definitely warranted it.

I've found that there's a real altruistic culture on Twitter. People like to help people; sometimes it might be to demonstrate their expertise but often it's to get that nice fuzzy warm feeling to top up the karmic bank!

I love this story and it completely proves what I've been telling people for ages: that people do things just out of the goodness of their heart.

Boo to those people who think that there's always a hidden agenda, and Yay to Pixie Lott for being so sweet :)

I notice a lot of this stereotyping and the whole t-shirts for creatives and suits for businessmen and I personally try to met it halfway, relaxed skater-like shoes, jeans for my designer side, and a shirt and jacket for my businessman side, no tie, top collar undone. Personally I feel this is comfortable for me, I want to be taken seriously, but I don't want to choke on a tie either. Although this is on a per day basis, sometimes I do appear in a t-shirt, after all its my choice.

I think you're right to wear your t-shirt and jeans to the events, it is our "uniform" per say and the great thing about it is that ours can be tailored to our own comfort, like in my situation. A suit is a suit is a suit!

What you wear doesn't affect professionalism.

Ive always tried to push the boundaries when it comes to dress code - mainly cos I have never understood why we should dress as someone tells us to - it should be completely up to you how you dress. First impressions count, and if you look like a typical guy in a suit, then that's not giving the real impression of who you are.....dress however you feel comfortable, wearing want you want allows to express yourself so much more, and with that you will feel more comfortable, be more confident, and lets face it - in a world of suits, the one that is memorable is the one not wearing a suit and going against the grain ;o)
